As long as you meet all qualifications, you can apply. For international students there are typically extra qualifications you need to meet, like sufficient monetary reserves (large bank acct) and the like.

Do they have American schools in Australia

Do they have American schools in Australia?
Do they have American schools, as in english speaking students and teachers, in Australia? My dad works in the embassy so we always get different assignments and we're moving a lot and i seriously dont want to move to australia because i know people there speak weird and have totally different lifestyles and stuff, so we might get an assignment there and ima be pissed if we do, but do they have american schools there?
Sydney - 11 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Yes, there is an American School in Australlia. Just Google it. But I am sure there is. However, don't move Australlia. They would make fun of your accent, the way you dress, the way you eat & .... Move to New York City!
2 :
NO we have Australian schools & you yanks are the ones talk & act weird
3 :
If they don't speak in English here, what language do you expect them to speak? Weird? Us weird? I won't be saying that yet at the same time I understand what you're trying to say - that our lifestyles aren't the way you see yours everyday. I see other countries in similar ways too. American schools as in the ones with cafeterias and that? Most schools don't because our winters aren't as cold where it reaches the point of snowing so that's why we eat out in the yard. However, private schools do have them.
4 :
Australia is an English speaking first world developed country with an excellent educational system. You will be able to understand everything we say and we will be able to understand you. Our lifestyle is very similar to yours and we have the same TV shows, movies, fast food places and that sort of thing. Our kids wear the same clothes as you do and even do their hair the same way. I would be surprised to find an American school here as one is simply not necessary. Don't worry about coming to Australia. We're nice people and you'll love it here.
5 :
you have been severely misinformed..
6 :
USA is very similar to australia, the people, food etc are very similar. People won't bag your accent, probably curious would be the answer. The only American experiences that Aussies have are what they see on the movies so you can expect us to be curious. I stayed with a mate in the us for a little while and the similarities are many. You will be right mate.
7 :
There are no American schools in Australia. We like our kids to be educated - something that the American school system seems not to have achieved with you.
8 :
We have Australian schools. .Why not go to an Australian school? In our schools, everyone mixes together, there are no different groups of people most of the time, just different groups of friends.. But everyone gets along fine, but people do have enemies and what not at times. Apparently you Americans are mean to people who are different. Are you a rich snobby kid? You seem like it by reading your question. Our schools have english speaking teachers, we speak english in Australia. We also have teachers that speak different languages and teach them. Aussies weird? No, we're not. We're more friendly than Americans. American schools are not necessary here in Australia. I dont see the point of making a school just for Americans, we have people coming from all over the world.. If you want to come to Australia, just go to one of our schools. You will make friends easily.. so dont worry.
9 :
If your dad truly does work at an embassy then I am truly and honestly surprised and shocked that he couldn't afford to get you an education. Australia is a First World country with English as the official language. We have no need for American schools because we have Australian schools. Teachers speak English and students speak English. As for our accents, well everybody in the world has an accent when compared to someone from another part of the world, but our accent is certainly not "weird" and is very easy to understand. Obviously, I am inclined to say that the Australian accent is the easiest accent to understand, because I'm Australian; but put me in a place (for example, Boston Massachusetts) and that would be a very weird accent to me because I wouldn't be used to it. I have a friend from Boston, and I definitely notice her accent but we can understand each other because we both speak English! And you'd be surprised, American culture is remarkably prevalent in Australia. More than half of our TV shows are from the US, including sitcoms, police and detective shows and dramas. We get all the latest American Blockbusters (sometimes, because of the time difference they are released here a day before they are released in America!) As for our lifestyles, guns are illegal without very difficult-to-obtain permits, so citizens of Australia are a lot safer because of our strict gun control laws. So, summing up, there is absolutely no need for American schools in Australia, we're proving ourselves more than adequate with our Australian schools.
10 :
why the hell would australia have american schools? america is not the be all and end all of the world! i sure hope you dont go to australia because with an attitude like yours you will not be welcome Australians speak ENGLISH
11 :
Justine, I have friends at the US Embassy in Canberra and many of the Embassy staff send their children into the public system. I'm sure going to an Australian school like their children do hasn't harmed them yet but rather, broadened their learning scope in Education and they all have made many solid friendships. American and Aussies speak the same language, English, but just in a different way. When you learn our "lingo" you'll love it. And the shopping is Amazing in Canberra. If you're old enough too, you might just get an invitation to the Marine Corps Ball :o)

I have never heard of this happening in Australia. Otherwise it would have been all over the news. This would certainly be considered as a violation of someones rights, and the parents would jump up and down about it. Strip searching is only allowed at an airport by security officers. Or in a police station or jail. :-)

I cannot imagine any circumstances where any school needed to strip search a student. If a serious crime was suspected, the police should be dealing with it.

Moving from Canada to Australia for school.

Moving from Canada to Australia for school...?
I plan on moving to Australia for school next year and cannot decide where i want to go... I wont have a car so i prefer a city that is not too hard to get around but is still exciting to live in... I am considering Gold Coast, Brisbane, or Wollongong but have also heard good things about Perth. Any suggestions ?????

If you want to get around by public transport, forget the Gold Coast and Wollongong. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide all have good public transport systems in most areas. I don't know about Perth, I haven't used public transport over there. Perth, however, is very expensive now and a long long way from anywhere else.
2 :
All schools are as equally good in all states therefore all you need to do is choose what life style you want.

IF you like it HOT all year around - what about Cairns in North Qld? There are direct flights into Cairns as it's an international airport. We have an excellent Campus and University here. How are the School's in Australia

How are the School's in Australia?
Hi i was wondering how the Australian system education works. Is their high school until secondary 5 or until secondary 4? Is there primary? Do u go to the same school for college or to a another? Is it difficult to get in too university? and do u have to wear uniforms? And i herd a rumor that in Australia u pass one hole day of the week just doing sports is that true also?
Primary & Secondary Education - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
School is divided into two stage - Primary and High school. Primary school goes from kindergarten to grade six (from ages 5-12), and then high school from grade seven to twelve. Most, if not all, schools have a uniform. Some are more strict than others. There isn't a whole day every week for sports, but in high school there is two or three hours a week where sport is compulsory until year twelve (sometimes eleven). In primary school there is a similar sport time and general activities each day. Each year there is one whole day for a sports carnival in both primary and high school, and a swimming carnival. If by college you mean secondary education (after year twelve) you can go pretty much wherever you want, as long as you get the marks required in your HSC (Higher School Certificate - year twelve exams/assesments) So, no, it is not that difficult to get into university if you know what you want to do and aim for the marks. If you don't get the marks, you can always find other ways in, like studying something with less marks required and then changing over. In Australia we have a system called HECS, where the Government pays for you degree and you repay it when you graduate and earn an income. But you can pay it all at once if you like and it will cost you less (still upwards of $10,000, depending what you study) Hope that answers your questions!
2 :
Well its very basic, when you are 5 you go into kindy to year 6 (primary school) then you go to high school which goes to year 7 to year 12. In year 11 you chose your subjects for the HSC which is a test that allows you to go to university. But in year 9 and 10 you can chose 2 or 3 electives, you still have to do all the boring subjects like Australian history and geography! my god it is boring! i want to learn about the world not just australia! if you fail any subject in year 11 you can't do it for year 12. In year 12 all your marks including tests and assessments go towards a uai which is your overall mark from year 12 and that determines what you can do in university. I think if you want to do law or medicine its something like 99.86 ( the top is 100) so it is hard! i am in year 10 now but i am doing a year 11 course.

Taking classes 4 an"In Demand Occupation"in Australia, what R the chances of being issued a work visa after

Taking classes 4 an"In Demand Occupation"in Australia, what R the chances of being issued a work visa after?
There are many shortages of qualified workers in Australia according to the Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL) Some require specific schooling to qualify for a work visa in one of these in demand occupations. If I go to school in Australia, complete the schooling requirements for a specific occupation, what is the likely hood of being issued a work visa upon completion of the schooling?
Immigration - 1 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
If your qualifications are what are required for a positive skills assessment and if the occupation is still listed on the Skilled Occupations List (SOL) when you apply and if you can pass the points test and meet the health, character and English language requirements, you should eventually get a visa but it is by no means automatic. Australia's immigration authorities have always made it quite clear that education in Australia and immigration visa requirements are two completely separate issues, and if the rules change to remove the occupation or to make the skill requirements more stringent while you are doing your course, you have no avenue of appeal. Many people have discovered this to their cost. Note that I haven't referred to the MODL in the above. Huge changes in the MODL can be expected in the next few months and it is absolutely impossible to predict what those changes will be. Occupations will be removed and others will be added; the MODL may (or may not) replace the CSL; points may change and so may processing priorities and the MODL could operate in a different way than at present, but submissions have only just been called for and it's too early to say what the changes will be. It's reasonably safe to say that occupations that are currently on the CSL will remain, but that's about the only (near) certainty.

I'm 13 years old live in NSW, Australia and I have a photographic memory (which would be very useful as a spy). Me and my friend have wanted to become spies for quite a while now and we're really passionate about it. Please help! And please don't answer with any crap or fake answers please.

In the United States you would have to apply for a job with the Central Intelligence Agency or Federal Bureau of Investigation. Typically speaking you start as a law enforcement officer, apply for the Bureau and after working your way through the ranks there you could be considered for espionage. Alternatively, you could enter into the military and work through the ranks there. Being a "spy" is far more involved than just having a photographic memory. You must be extremely intelligent. It requires knowledge of foreign languages, weaponry, hand to hand combat, military tactics, cryptography and cryptanalysis. It's not something you can simply "apply" for or go to school for. You will have to prove yourself in other law enforcement venues before you are considered for espionage.
2 :
ASIO is australia's spy organisation so look into that. Also talk to your careers advisor, not joking they will have info on it.

How good of a school is Santa Cruz

How good of a school is Santa Cruz?
I want to be a marine field biologist, and I've heard that UCSC has a good background in natural science. It also offers an exchange program to University of Queensland, Australia, another school I've been looking at. But I just want to know how good of a school Santa Cruz really is before I get my heart set on it... Any input? Also, if you can suggest some other good schools for marine biology, please do. Thanks in advance!

"The College of the Atlantic is the best school for undergraduate marine science, bar none. Among the elites, Duke, Brown, Stanford, UNC, and Cornell have strong marine science programs. UCLA, UCSB, UCSD, Occidental, Stanford, Humboldt State, Oregon State, U Oregon, UW, Hawaii-Manoa, Alaska-Fairbanks, U Miami, Eckerd, U Maine, U Florida, URI, and the 5 College Consortium are other good options."
2 :
Some California friends of mine are deep into the college application process. They've made extensive use of a couple of thick books available at bookstores or through Amazon.com that describe colleges in detail, including rankings, strong programs, lifestyle, costs, etc. Using them, you'll be able to find out about all the schools that offer marine biology courses and majors. As you probably know, UC Santa Cruz is right near Monterey Bay, with its famous aquarium and marine wildlife preserve. Santa Cruz is a lively town, with ethnic restaurants, bookstores, and a famous surfing beach. The only bad thing I've ever seen there is their persistent "homeless" problem, with drifters and odd characters strumming guitars and panhandling on the main shopping street. You can read the Santa Cruz Sentinel [ http://www.santacruzsentinel.com/ ] on line to get an idea of the place. Guidance departments are pretty well swamped with duties related to college and scholarship applications, so you and your folks will have to do almost all the research yourselves. It's a very time-consuming process. My friend says, "It's no wonder so many kids throw up their hands and just enroll at the nearest community college. They have no idea how to go about selecting the best colleges to apply to."

Biology - 3 Answers

Forensic science is a lot different then television. Just to warn you... I think chemistry and Bio classes are most important.
2 :
You should do a little research and see what type of forensic scientist you want to be. If you were to get a job in that field, you would have one specialty. Its not like on TV where one person does all different types of lab analysis. Forensic biology is where you would analyze DNA evidence from body fluids such as blood, saliva, and semen. You also would do serology. In forensic chemistry, you can do trace analysis (analyze objects for various chemicals, composition, and matching material fragments), firearms, questioned documents, blood spatter analysis, etc. You will need a few physics courses in college but you should focus on whichever you prefer, chemistry or biology. If you like chemistry you can take general chem, organic chem, or physical chem. If you prefer biology you could take general biology, human physiology, or genetics if its offered. You are going to have to take all the classes you need in college, so just get a solid science background now and you will be fine :)
3 :
If you plan on staying in Adelaide you need to see what the jobs are like first. In some states you have to be a member of the police force first or have that type of background as well as science. Other states prefer a TAFE educated person who spends time first working in a general hospital pathology lab. It is as like what you see on TV like Australia is like that specific Simpsons episode. It is boring, low image, and extremely repetitive. Only the lab heads (the ones with a PhD and other qualifications) get to do any of the court room appearances. You are just a lab worker.

It will be extremely hard to find - there are a limited number of positions in boarding schools and someone prepared to stay for 1 year would be given preference (otherwise the school would have a spare bed for half the year). The schools are always private (so ther fees are around 10K) THEN there is the boarding fee which is often the same - so you'd be looking at 10K for half the year minimum IF you could get a place to accept you - since they are private there is always a long waiting list.

What is the best high school for girls in Sydney, Australia

What is the best high school for girls in Sydney, Australia?
Our family just moved to Sydney from Hong Kong and we were thinking about Sydney Girls or Brigidine Randwick, Which is better for our daughter? Who has better education, friendlier people and better reputation.

Sydney girls is a selective school so academically it holds a very high standard, however your daughter needs to pass the selective test first. Brigidine is a private so school fees needs to be considered as they can pile up over the years, but your daughter will connect better with richer people. These are some points to think about, however i would recommend Sydney Girls

Australia v. Oceania

Australia v. Oceania?
When I went to school, Australia was considered a continent. A few years ago, I was using a book called "The Geography coloring book" (much like the Anatomy Coloring book, used by nursing students) and noticed that Australia had been changed from a continent to a huge island in a huge Pacific region called "Oceania". I have also noticed in the world tour section of a major bookstore that Australia has been lumped with Oceania. With that thought, I have three questions: 1 - When did the region get renamed? 2 - Why did the region get renamed? 3. Why is Australia considered an Island as opposed to a continent? Thank you. Take care.
Geography - 3 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Great question! I didn't know it had changed also. But my guess as to why it is considered an Island not a continent is because Australia is only one country. By becoming Oceania, multiple countries are involved, and Australia is a part of that rather than solo as a country/continent.
2 :
when i was in school we got taught the oceania is the contintental plate of which hawaii, polynesia, micronesia and many many many many other small islands are part. australia is as i was taught a seperate continent
3 :
I live in Australia and, by and large, we still consider ourselves to be an "island continent". Generally speaking, offshore islands, esp. those some ways away, aren't considered to be part of a continental landmass. However, we very definitely identify with a "region" of the south-west pacific called Oceania, and it's really just a name for a group of moderately closely located island nations plus New Zealand and Australia. We actually don't use the term much ourselves in day to day life... .we tend to talk about Pacific Islands, New Zealand and Australia separately. Having said that, I do recall back in my childhood (over 30 years ago) that there was a bit of a push to collectively call the region Oceania..but it just didn't stick.

What's the school year in Australia

What's the school year in Australia?
Just in general. When does it start and when does it end? When are the breaks if you have any, like summer break? In America it starts at the end of August and ends at the end of May. Then summer break is June and July. So phrase it like that.

Katie, the last time I tried to answer this I got it screwed up, they call it school terms, where we call it semesters. I think one of the locals will be better served answerring this one.
2 :
Our school year starts in February (or late January) and ends about a week before Christmas. We are divided in two semesters, each with 2 terms (4 in total). Each term is about 10-11 weeks and there are 2-week breaks in between each term.
3 :
I'm on summer break at the moment. Summer break is normal the start of December to the end of January. Then we have about 10 weeks school and the 10 days off during easter then we have another 10 weeks of school then 2 weeks off for the June/July holidays then we have another 10 weeks school and another 2 weeks holiday in September then it is the summer holidays again.
4 :
The School Terms are different for each state. Take a look at the web page for details: http://australia.gov.au/topics/australian-facts-and-figures/school-term-dates This is Queensland for 2011* Term 1: Monday 24 January - Friday 15 April 12 weeks Term 2:Wednesday 27 April - Friday 24 June 9 weeks Term 3: Monday 11 July - Friday 16 September 10 weeks Term 4: Monday 3 October - Friday 9 December 10 weeks

It depends on the state - starting salary ranges from 30K in SA to 51K in NSW but they both end up to around 65K (SA salaries have a bigger gap between levels). higher than that you are looking at Head teacher or Principle.

how to become a primary school teacher? (melbourne, australia)

how to become a primary school teacher? (melbourne, australia)?
im in year 12 at the moment, what are the steps to take and courses to complete in order become a qualified primary teacher in melbourne. whats the salary and whats the best uni to study at? thanks :)

Do you have a career guidance counselor at your school? They can often be a good source of information about what you need and which universities are the better for teaching. The University of Melbourne has some good information about becoming a teacher, but do you have an idea of which stream of education, you want to go into? Such as early education, primary, or secondary. I also found a universities link for Melbourne so I hope that helps.
2 :
You can take a few paths. If you know that education is what your heart desires, then you can go straight into an Education (primary) degree at somewhere like Monash University, Deakin, LaTrobe, etc. This takes 4 years. Alternatively, you could do an undergraduate degree in anything (Arts, Psychology, Science, Maths, etc) for three years, then do a Masters of Teaching/Education in 1-2 years at University of Melbourne or Deakin Uni. This is a higher qualification and you get a more in depth look at issues and subjects, and also spend more time in the classroom (1-2 days per week, plus 3 week block rounds, so its a bit more like the real thing). Get the Job Guide if you haven't already, and do your research! Open Days will be starting very soon, so get to as many unis as you can. Make sure you keep your options open, where there is a will there is a way! Starting salary is $55,000 a year, or close to it if you are in the public or catholic system, it varies in independent schools. Best of luck with your VCE, and with your future studies :)

I AM AN IRISH EXCHANGE STUDENT! STARTING SCHOOL IN AUSTRALIA IN A FEW WEEKS! Need some help on yor culture!?
I am from ireland, but i'm from the north, so my accent isnt "top of thee marnin te ye!" Its a northern irish accent, but its slightly american too. More irish though but not as strong as most. Do you guys like it? Give me some clothing advice, what to you guys wear in summer and winter? By the way i'm a 16 year old girl. I like my own style, Converse wearing, skinny jeans or skirt with colored tights and stuff. Ok also will i look like a complete retard?? or tell me what you think? Because i'm from ireland i have EXTREMLY pale skin, with some freckles on my face and arms. Dark brown wavy thick hair and green eyes. I'm also 5'5 and quite skinny but curvy!! So think i will fit in? people make fun of me? Or what are your thoughts?? also if u have any advice through it my way! do you guys like irish people or do you hate us and our accents?? just any comment! thanks :) xxx

gahaa even though u dont have the "top of the mornin to ya" accent if you say ur irish we'll probs say that to u anyways. Ok well im 14 and in winter i usually wear converses skinny jeans jumpers tees and dresses with like stockings and in summer i wear like mini short tees singlets thongs(um flip flops?) and dresses and umm not many people wear skirt with coloured tights no moree depends wat ur definition of "extremely pale" is a few of my friends come from england and scotland and they have really pale skin and freckly arms and legs. I dont think you'll stand out coz if you spend a few weeks here in summer you'll tan. And if you dont you can always get a fake tan if your really worried bout ur skin plaeness yerr u probs fit in but people well probs bag out ur irishness and accent hah wen i think irish i think ranga freckly short and funny accent who wears green so pretty much leprecorn hahaha
2 :
Style is up to the individual, we have people that dress like complete retards, and others that don't. But thats how trends start. You shouldn't have a problem fitting in, we are a very multicultural nation, the only thing that would make you stand out is your accent (people may make fun of it and might say "typical" Irish sayings like "Top of the mornin to ya" but thats just because they are fascinated by your accent. BECAUSE IRISH PEOPLE ARE AWESOME!!!!! True story that is :) Irish skin, be careful. Just don't stay out in the sun too long or you'll end up REALLY red (sun-burnt) and its not a nice feeling at all, though your skin might tan really easy, but just be careful. Theres no such thing as a healthy tan......or so the Australian Government says. We love Irish people, a lot of our families are originally from Ireland, like mine for example. My dad and his parents come from Ireland. So I think you'll fit in just fine. Always remember to have fun and DON'T FORGET TO SMILE :)

G'day There are only 41 universities in Australia, all of them are fully accredited and they are tightly controlled, therefore the quality and recognition of their graduates are equal from wherever university you are studying from. The most important thing is you have to READ the course information carefully, since some courses may have the same name but different content. To find out the course that you are taking and where it is offered, I suggest you to go to IDP Education Australia website (www.idp.edu.au). IDP is an organisation that gives information to international students who wants to continue their study in Australia. Once decided on the uni, fill in the application form and send it together with certified copy of your academic qualification (in English and original language). The process will take abt 2-3weeks, depending on the time of the year. Hope this helps. Good luck on your studies :)

Do you think that government funding should be cut and stoped to private hospitals and schools in Australia

Do you think that government funding should be cut and stoped to private hospitals and schools in Australia?
so that money can flow back to their public counterparts so that they close the acheivement gaps between both sectors? please comment?

Only if they are pyschiatric.
2 :
I certainly believe that private schools should not receive public funding. The current arrangements perpetuate disadvantage in the public school system, and mean that students at private schools have far more money spent on each child than those in the public school system. Ask yourself this: If you are a child in the state school system, do you believe that you are less worthy of having public money spent on you than a child in a private school? Because that's what the current policies say, in effect. If parents want their child to attend a private school I have no quarrel with that, but they should be supported from private funds, school fees, donations etc. Most private schools are affiliated with some kind of religious organisation, so that's another reason I don't believe they should be funded by my taxes. If parents want their child to have a religious education, then it should be confined to a Saturday or Sunday School, or out of school hours study groups. All children should have absolute equality of opportunity. As long as governments fund private schools that is not the case. And I am particularly horrified that a Labour government continues to support such arrangements.
3 :
most certainly, private schools are exactly that private. they wish to educate then let them do so, but why should the taxpayer foot the bill. the country has an excellent education system, why pander to the rich
4 :
HA HA You are so funny, you think that if the government stops spending money in one area they will feed it to another, get serious, wake up australians you are living in the past, your government is much more tricky than you think, GST was sold on the basis that some people were dishonest and took cash and did not declare tax, but did it make you better off, the Australian government continue to tax more and more and more until you choke and yet get less each year and everything costs more and more, our standard of living has dropped by international standards. Food is crazy price, housing is crazy and so is banking, yet everything outside of australia gets more competitive. AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT SCREWS THE PEOPLE WHOLESALE, we have so much money come from our wealth in the ground in australia and there is such a small population in australia so why can you not just have what you want without taking it from another source, while you keep thinking like you are the government will continue to love taking the money for nothing and wasting it. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ROT WHICH HAS SET IN SO WELL, the government has you brainwashed more than anywhere i have seen in the world, and many people think like me about this. sorry to seem so heavy on this but i find your thinking quite unbelievable and naive.
5 :
without the private system the public system would collapse overnight,

How can I finish High School in Australia, and then go to college in the US

How can I finish High School in Australia, and then go to college in the US?
We do a VCE (Victoria), which gives us a score that allows us to get into university courses, and get our degrees, however, I want to go to university in America. Is there any way to do this besides doing the International Baccalaureate (which as far as I know, you do the same sort of thing, get your score, but its world recognised, where as our "VCE" is not.) Thankyou. I know you can do either VCE, International Baccalaureate or BOTH (thats a lot of work though, like a crazy amount.) At schools around my area, but at my school the International Baccalaureate isn't avaliable. Are tere any other options, besides moving schools to do it?

Do the SATs. I think if you visit the US Embassy, you can apply to take the test as a private candidate in Australia. If your scores are good enough, you can go to college in the US. The only problem is that you'll have to devote extra time and effort to prepare for the SATs since you won't be taking it in school. Sorry if this wasn't very detailed. But I have a cousin from Asia who took the SATs in his home country, and he ended up in one of the universities in Boston. All the best!

If someone went to high school from a special school but now wanted to go back to a Special school

If someone went to high school from a special school but now wanted to go back to a Special school?
because the work load in high school was to hard what would you say and advise. (this question is based on my friend who did go back to a special school from high school, Australia high school is gr 8. My friend and I went from special school to gr 9 and did the easiest subjects no it was not bullying
People with Disabilities - 3 Answers

Honestly, I would say man up and tough it out. In the real world you can't go to a "special" job if you feel your current job is too difficult. Going back to the "special" school will just end up hurting him/her in the long run.
2 :
He would need to get used to the real world. If he's good enough for a "normal" school he has no reason to go back the spacial school. Of course if he went back he would be with people he can relate too. It's up to him really. And of course the staff there would be able to help him more and be more specialized in dealing with people with disabilities like him. So in any case it depends on ones individual circumstances. Maybe it could be bulling that makes him want to go back?
3 :
I would advise this person to have a long discussion with a school counselor. If the easy subjects in their current school are too difficult - perhaps they need more support services to be successful. Or perhaps the school is truly too difficult. I have always believed there is always a way to make an inclusive school setting successful and that special segregated schools do not help people be successful adults, but instead disable them further. I have learned recently to make one exception, that is when it is not the work that is too difficult, but the social atmosphere of the school too stressful to navigate and a small setting is required to be successful.

Not at all! It's just like any other school. Students at the school enjoy new people coming and most are willing to be your friend. The workload is just about the same, too. The only thing that sucks is that they all have uniforms and the private school uniforms are really strict :( The actual schools are fine, though!
