The best school is the one thats right for the person.

Check in the phone book, look at the groups and give them a ring. Please don't be fazed by slightly less "flashy" advertisements...the smaller dance schools are just as good and often you won't find them as pretentious.

My dad works in the embassy so we always get different assignments and we're moving a lot and i seriously dont want to move to australia because i know people there speak weird and have totally different lifestyles and stuff, so we might get an assignment there and ima be pissed if we do, but do they have american schools there?

Yes, there is an American School in Australlia. Just Google it. But I am sure there is. However, don't move Australlia. They would make fun of your accent, the way you dress, the way you eat & .... Move to New York City!
2 :
NO we have Australian schools & you yanks are the ones talk & act weird

If they don't speak in English here, what language do you expect them to speak? Weird? Us weird? I won't be saying that yet at the same time I understand what you're trying to say - that our lifestyles aren't the way you see yours everyday. I see other countries in similar ways too. American schools as in the ones with cafeterias and that? Most schools don't because our winters aren't as cold where it reaches the point of snowing so that's why we eat out in the yard. However, private schools do have them.

Australia is an English speaking first world developed country with an excellent educational system. You will be able to understand everything we say and we will be able to understand you. Our lifestyle is very similar to yours and we have the same TV shows, movies, fast food places and that sort of thing. Our kids wear the same clothes as you do and even do their hair the same way. I would be surprised to find an American school here as one is simply not necessary. Don't worry about coming to Australia. We're nice people and you'll love it here.

you have been severely misinformed..

USA is very similar to australia, the people, food etc are very similar. People won't bag your accent, probably curious would be the answer. The only American experiences that Aussies have are what they see on the movies so you can expect us to be curious. I stayed with a mate in the us for a little while and the similarities are many. You will be right mate.

There are no American schools in Australia. We like our kids to be educated - something that the American school system seems not to have achieved with you.

We have Australian schools. .Why not go to an Australian school? In our schools, everyone mixes together, there are no different groups of people most of the time, just different groups of friends.. But everyone gets along fine, but people do have enemies and what not at times. Apparently you Americans are mean to people who are different. Are you a rich snobby kid? You seem like it by reading your question. Our schools have english speaking teachers, we speak english in Australia. We also have teachers that speak different languages and teach them. Aussies weird? No, we're not. We're more friendly than Americans. American schools are not necessary here in Australia. I dont see the point of making a school just for Americans, we have people coming from all over the world.. If you want to come to Australia, just go to one of our schools. You will make friends easily.. so dont worry.

If your dad truly does work at an embassy then I am truly and honestly surprised and shocked that he couldn't afford to get you an education. Australia is a First World country with English as the official language. We have no need for American schools because we have Australian schools. Teachers speak English and students speak English. As for our accents, well everybody in the world has an accent when compared to someone from another part of the world, but our accent is certainly not "weird" and is very easy to understand. Obviously, I am inclined to say that the Australian accent is the easiest accent to understand, because I'm Australian; but put me in a place (for example, Boston Massachusetts) and that would be a very weird accent to me because I wouldn't be used to it. I have a friend from Boston, and I definitely notice her accent but we can understand each other because we both speak English! And you'd be surprised, American culture is remarkably prevalent in Australia. More than half of our TV shows are from the US, including sitcoms, police and detective shows and dramas. We get all the latest American Blockbusters (sometimes, because of the time difference they are released here a day before they are released in America!) As for our lifestyles, guns are illegal without very difficult-to-obtain permits, so citizens of Australia are a lot safer because of our strict gun control laws. So, summing up, there is absolutely no need for American schools in Australia, we're proving ourselves more than adequate with our Australian schools.

why the hell would australia have american schools? america is not the be all and end all of the world! i sure hope you dont go to australia because with an attitude like yours you will not be welcome Australians speak ENGLISH

Justine, I have friends at the US Embassy in Canberra and many of the Embassy staff send their children into the public system. I'm sure going to an Australian school like their children do hasn't harmed them yet but rather, broadened their learning scope in Education and they all have made many solid friendships. American and Aussies speak the same language, English, but just in a different way. When you learn our "lingo" you'll love it. And the shopping is Amazing in Canberra. If you're old enough too, you might just get an invitation to the Marine Corps Ball :o)
