What is the job I'm suited for? ( In Australia)

What is the job I'm suited for? ( In Australia)?
I am currently a waiter doing a traineeship in hospitality. But Im not sure wether hospitality is the industry I want to work in. Theres three jobs I have always liked Zoologist, Actor or Psychologist. I had to leave school in Australia because I went to live in Ireland for 2 years where I was in 5th year the equivilent to year 11 in Australia. But the problem was Irelands school year starts in the middle of the Australian school year. So when I got back to Australia the school I was attending told me I wouldnt be able to graduate year 12 and I was too old to repeat year 11 ( It would make me about 20 when I left school) So I went to see the guidence cousillor who set up a job in hospitality for me. Any advice please?

Go to college and get a degree. Then decide what you're going to do. Becoming an actor is pretty difficult, if not damn near impossible and a degree in psychology requires several years of college. My advice to you would be to go to a college or university and get a higher education.

Acting you can always take in schools and stuff so you will have to apply to them to see what happens - I am guessing heaps of money to get in. Psychology and Zoology require finishing year 12 and getting into uni - my suggestion is that if in Ireland you finished the equivalent of grade 12 in Australia, apply to universities for credit. I have a friend who came back from overseas and lots of his subjects got credited and he got an approximate OP which helped him get into uni. Otherwise see about doing something like tafe or an arts degree for a year so that you can establish yourself with something and then move up. I am sure you can always repeat year 12, you would just have to wait for the start of the year, or again get some subjects credited and start whenever they can make it possible for you Ask around to uni's and schools - and a tip dont trust that guidance counciller, I have never meant one at school that has told me correct information ! Best of luck !

Whats the deal with public school uniform? (In Australia)

Whats the deal with public school uniform? (In Australia)?
There is this teacher at my public high school who is going out of her way to get me in trouble any way she can, and this time she has decided to use uniform. But at my school, uniform is optional, and they recommend that you wear the colour code if you chose to not wear the uniform. I choose not to wear uniform or colour code, but both of these are only recommended, so is it right for her to send letters home to my parents telling them I've done something wrong?

No it's not right for her to send letter home, but just make sure by looking in the school handbook or the school rules that it is definitely only a recommendation. If it is and a note does arrive home, just explain to your parents the situation and they'll understand! I hope I helped :)

That depends on what you are wearing. Regardless of uniform and code, if what you are wearing is inappropriate (for instance, if it's simply unsafe for any practical lessons you have) or indecent (I can't imagine any school allowing you to sit in lessons nude) then the school is going to take action. There's nothing clever or mature about pushing the rules to see if you can get away with more than everyone else. It's something toddlers do. You really should have grown out of it.

If it's in the school handbook that this stuff is optional then surely your parents will know you've done nothing wrong irregardless of what the teacher may allege in her letters, and that this particular teacher and her letters are all no more than a storm in a teacup. Then presumably they won't take any notice of these letters or give them any more credence than they deserve. So why bother worrying; just have your mum chuck the teacher's letters in the bin (if she doesn't do so anyway) and go on your own sweet way. And if the teacher goes on groundlessly complaining about you, talk to your tutor, head of year or her head of department (depending how the complaints' procedure goes in your school) about it. Maybe you ought to be talking to them irregardless and asking them if they would help mediate the relationship between you and this teacher if you seriously reckon you're not goading her in any way, be it deliberately or not, are honestly doing nothing whatsoever to aggravate her and she is just picking on you out of the blue and for no reason. 'Course your understanding of the word 'recommended' may not be the same as this particular teacher's understanding or even the school's understanding of the word 'recommended'. Is the school trying to 'encourage' students to wear its uniform/recommended colours? Do you ever get any comments from any other teachers about what you're wearing? If not, I'd say this teacher's issues with you are probably more a result of a personality clash between the two of you. In which case you may have to bring in someone else to mediate between the two of you or failing that, send your parents to the school to ask that you be moved out of her lessons. 'Course if any other teachers have an issue with your choice of clothes you may want to rethink what you're wearing to school; rethink if going your own sweet way just for the hell of it because the school rules say you can is really worth the trouble (whether truly justified or not) and if it would not make things easier to just go with the school's dress code, if you don't want to go as far as wearing the actual school uniform.

Each school will send you an application, all you have to do is contact them. Look at their websites, you should also talk to the department of international student affairs. Every school has one, though they are not all named the same.
