What is the best equine veterinary school in Europe, NZ, or possibly Australia

What is the best equine veterinary school in Europe, NZ, or possibly Australia?
I wanted to study abroad somewhere outside of America, but I didn't know where to go about searching for information because nothing useful seems to come up online. I have a 4.0GPA with lots of extracurriculars and experience with animals, as well as volunteer hours. So, I would think it wouldn't be all that difficult for me to get into a good college. Any suggestions?

In Australia - there are only 10 universities that teach Vet science - 2 (perhaps 3 not sure) are post grad only. so there are 7 undergraduate degrees. Each has an intake between 60 and 100 so there are less than 550 places for the ENTIRE COUNTRY. So competition is much greater than you are expecting Only 20% at the max are assigned to international students. Unlike the US, Australian universities are only interest in your university ranking grade the closest you have is the SAT. Volunteer hours, essay etc are not part of our entrance requirements. Its purely your test score. In Australia each state has the same English, Biology, Chemistry etc exam for all students sitting their final year - and it is the score they get in that averaged with their year 11/12 scores that gives them their university entrance score. To get into vet science you need around a 98.9 out of 100 for the lowest university and 99.45 out of 100 to get into University of Sydney. Uni of Sydney only takes in 2-5 international students a year for their degree and mostly from students who have sat the IB.

Is it possible to come to Australia to study in a secondary school that's not on the CRICOS l

Is it possible to come to Australia to study in a secondary school that's not on the CRICOS list?
My cousin from Denmark wants to come over here and study with me in my school for 6 months. However my school isn't on the CRICOS list so she isn't eligible for a student Visa. Is it possible for her to come to my school and experience the schooling life over here without getting the student visa? If so, which visa will she need to apply for? Besides, my school has had some students from overseas and I am wondering how they got there without applying for the student visa.

G'day, I have a feeling that the overseas students that came to your school were exchange students, where your school has an exchange agreement with another school overseas. It is perfect for your cousin as she only wants to have a short visit anyway. So you and your cousin must start making enquiries both schools' administration to start making contacts to each other so it is possible for your cousin to come & study in your school. Unfortunately you did not mention what school that you study in. Please be advised that public school in most states are able to accept international students with int. student visa. Hope this helps. Good luck.

For this purpose Google would be the best option to find out the proper answer to this question with multiple choice of and a great variety of the relevant things. SO it is recommended to just put not more than 2 or 3 main key words and find it on first page.

Are there any Ivy League Schools in Australia

Are there any Ivy League Schools in Australia?
Or, can i have a list of all the Ivy League schools world-wide?
Higher Education (University +) - 2 Answers

1 :
What are you talking about? See, this is the problem with high schools today! Do you even know what Ivy League has to do with; not academics, SPORTS!! The Ivy League schools are, first and foremost, a sports league created many years ago. Ivy league schools are ONLY in the NORTHEASTERN part of the UNITED STATES. A simple google search would have told you that. If you cannot google, you cannot go Ivy. The ivy league schools are: UPenn Dartmouth Harvard Columbia Cornell Brown Princeton and Yale Edit: Roaring, as you might think it was rude (and funny), you, as a T.C., should know that there is a simple and effetive "search" buttom right on top of the website. As many know, there are probaly 3,929,132 questions on Ivy league school PER DAY! So, even if I was a little rude, it's not unjust. Hopefully, many that post about Ivy leagues can look at this post and take the "search" advice, lol.
2 :
That other poster may be being a bit rude (and a bit funny), but he's right. The Ivy League is a group of schools in a sports league in the US. Many of them are prestigious universities, yes. And I think that's what you're really asking: what are the most prestigious universities in Australia. There are no universities in Australia that are particularly famous, worldwide - not like Harvard is, for example. But there are some universities in Australia that rank extremely well, internationally, on rankings tables. They include: - Australian National University - University of Melbourne - University of Sydney - University of Queensland - Monash University - University of New South Wales Those tend to rank in the top 50, worldwide. I'll link you to one international university rankings table that I do like, below. I'm sure Australia must also have some sort of rankings tables as well.

No its not - If it is a single subject - thats what you go to TAFE for. You go on a Saturday or a weeknight once a week and do the single subject. Several students from my old school did that as the school could allow you to study both German and Physics (timetable didnt allow for it) so they took German at TAFE on Tuesday nights. Individual schools dont teach by correspondence (who is to do it?) Correspondence schools do - you have to sign up as a home schooler which takes time and requires your parents to be involved (one to be a home body for instance).

4 :
seriously look for a school that is going to help advance you in your career choice I am really sick of international students studying in Australia and party all night and then disruptive in lectures and tutes. If you want to party stay in your own country! Otherwise come and pay the money for uni to LEARN!!
5 :
Australian universities have a culture of partying, with a week long orientation week party (o-week) and regular events at the campus bar throughout the year. However unlike the US most people don't live on campus so you don't get the same sort of vibe, but a lot depends on the crowd you are with.

Are all catholic schools in Australia private

Are all catholic schools in Australia private?
We were talking about this at my art class today, and I was pretty sure they were, but someone told me they're not. Are they? I mean, they can't have compulsory religious teaching if you fall into that catchment area, right?
Other - Education - 3 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
All catholic schools in Australia are private. Government schools here are all non-denominational. However some kind of optional religious education is normally available, particularly in primary school.
2 :
Yes catholic schools are classified as private. We don't pay absorbent fees as actual private schools but its semi-private to be honest we don't get the same amount of funding as public but same as private but our school fees aren't that high. And yes religion is COMPULSORY, if you try to argue then generally the question would be "why did u come to a catholic school?" If you go to a Christian affiliated school (Knox, Syd Grammer etc) not catholic religion subject is mostly optional.
3 :
Yes. The word catholic in itself means universal so all Catholic schools are parochial or private school world wide.

What are good boarding schools in Sydney Australia

What are good boarding schools in Sydney Australia?
I want to go to a boarding school which is near Bondi and that is high in drama and music. Doe anyone know of any? Whats it like there? Thanks :)

1 :
none.
2 :
Only private schools around Bondi have boarders look up Reddaham House, SCEGS and Cranbrook for a start you could also check Catholic Education, they're all fairly good schools (not as good at selective state schools through) and are generally quite expensive
3 :
there are plenty but they will depend on your gender and where you are from. If you are a girl try SCEGGS, Kincoppal or St Vincents (but i think for Vinnies you have to be from the country) And if you a boy try Shore, Cranbrook or Joeys [st. josephs] But be prepared to pay $20 000+ a year for years 11 + 12
4 :
i have heaps of friends that go to boarding school. for you i would say Kincoppal. Its in rose bay and the girls go to bondi beach or junction every weekend nearly, or whenever. i dunno about music and drama but it is a really good school. be prepared to pay $30++ grand a year. there are only 3 boarding schools i know of in sydney that are under thirty grand. email me if you wanna know more! :)

OBGYN in Australia requires 4 years med school, then 3 years to specialise and another 6 years residency

OBGYN in Australia requires 4 years med school, then 3 years to specialise and another 6 years residency?
period? so this means that they have an experienced physicians mentoring new OBGYNs? What if you were to take time off due to pregnancy, children, etc during these 6 years?
Other - Education - 1 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
There is also a 2-6 year RMO/JMO period after med school and intern year (5 not 4) to get enough experience in order to "beat" the other applicants for the 30-40 spots in the country to get a place in the program. There is usually a time limit from start to finish that if you go over - thats it. Many of these programs have a mandate to have a certain number of FTE people in the system at any one time but they also have a cap on the number of people. So if 50% have been on maternity leave during their training then the organisation will not have met their service requirements and therefore they will have their funds reduced. As such their may be selection pressure to choose some people into the cohort who are unlikely to need/require materinary leave. The point to remember here - is that the training costs to create a qualified OBGYN is around 500-600K and so the government must choose where to put these funds wisely.

Something like %80 of us live within 50km (80miles) of the beach.... so there is a lot of surfing and swimming. Other than that there is Rugby League and Afl being the most popular sports, then we have soccer, rugby union, netball, hockey and all the rest of them of course. But anything to do with the beach, lakes etc are the primary past times i guess. not 80miles lol.... i think its about 30miles...... 1mile = 1.6km
2 :
Well I live in Australia and I do surfing :)
3 :
I think we indulge in every sport known to man, because of our multi-cultural population. Some of those are Tennis Rugby League Rugby Union Soccer Swimming F1 motor racing Touring car racing Cycling Motor Cross Cricket Horse racing Harness racing All olympic type events Boxing Horse shows/dressage events Some baseball Netball Basketball Lawn bowls Tenpin bowls Golf etc etc etc. Some activities for relaxation are surfing hiking bushwalking paintballing Dog shows Open garden days etc
4 :
It would be a lot easier to name what we don't do here....Australia is sports mad ! Having said that , we aren't really big on snow sports ...we have great snowfields but they are not easily accessible to all the spread out population here . The main ones that are popular with the majority are all the different versions of football , cricket , basketball , netball , tennis & all types of motor sport..... The next tier include sports like baseball , softball , hockey , badminton , boxing , wrestling etc etc Then you have the more elite sports like rifle shooting , skiing , etc etc
5 :
Us Australians, we play every sport. Most popular are: Cricket AFL NRL Tennis Surfing Golf Netball Rugby ect. Seriously we play everything
6 :
Don't forget the martial arts! Thai boxing! Especially in Queensland!
7 :
cricket is very popular Tennis is VERY popular Horse racing is popular Rugby is popular (they call it footy) They also play netball I stayed there for 1 year

What Qualifications are Required to become a Primary School Teacher And What's Involved?
I wish to become a primary school teacher in Australia but I am not sure what qualifications I need to be able to teach. There is one other problem, to maintain my income I am going to continue working during the day and therefore either go to night school or learn by correspondence distance education. Can anyone help??

I had a friend after finishing his degree in education with credential taught in New Zealand. It was all by chance. He was visiting in Hawaii to surf and was on his way back to California. He did not have a job and had not really thought about it after he had graduated. He sat next to a director of one of the schools, and they hit off a conversation. The next thing he had a job in New Zealand. You could get your education done with University of Phoenix online and could work out your student teaching with a local school that would work with University of Phoenix. Many schools will work with University of Phoenix. Australia has online programs too.
2 :
You need to do a primary education degree, which is 4 years at University. Alternatively, you can undertake a bachelors degree in anything, and then study for a diploma of education, which is also 4 years. However, to get qualified you do need to undertake teaching rounds, which are usually one day a week for the duration of the semester to begin with, or a two-week lump sum I think, depending on the Uni, so you may have to reduce your hours at work to fit in with the timetable (I think its usually fridays?) If you need to work and study, perhaps doing an Arts degree (10-12 hours contact per week for 3 years) and then a dip. ed part time (1.5-2 years, usually about 10 hours a week also) may be a better option than a Bachelor of Education, as the hours might be more flexible? Not sure about the contact hours per week of Education, but I would think they would be more. Either way, unless you're full time it will take you a while to get qualified. Try Open Universitys, and see if there is an Education course on there? Being a teacher would be very rewarding though, and if you're passionate about it you will excel.

I transfered from Italian schools to American schools in my junior year. I had to bring all my transcripts and took tests to see at what level I was. I was placed ahead a year. This was back in 1991 and I had moved to Florida. Just make sure you have your transcripts from your schools in Australia.

For starters, and I mean no disrespect, get off of Yahoo!Answers and go to Job Seekers. Also, make sure you have the proper credentials before you start. While you may not need full blown teacher qualifications as a Pre-School teacher, you can't walk into it without skills either. Contact the Pre-Schools in Darwin and see if they are hiring. Also, consider travel if not too inconvenient, but I would think there should be plenty of opportunity in Darwin. Good luck.

how to start a painting? please help me haha?
im in year 11 at school (Australia) and have to start my Art major work.. im doing a big painting but this is the first year im doing art and this is my first major big canvas painting.. well my teacher has been an art teacher for years and years and very critical.. i just dont know how to start my painting? i would usualy do the backgroun first but is that the right way? ahh im so confused i just dont know what to do :( please help!

1 :
If you are using acrylics ,then you can put the background in first and it dries very quickly.within the hour. But you can't do it that way with oils ,because oils take a very long time to dry. So when using oils just paint it as you come to it. You did not mention how long you have to do this painting if you have months to do it then you can use oils and just wait for them to dry but if you only have a week or so then I would use acrylics. That's your call.
2 :
Draw the major shapes in pencil on the canvas and start. Sometimes a big white canvas can be a daunting sight. You could start by putting a weak wash all over the surface in some neutral color. Lay in the colors for all the shapes, in other words, paint the whole piece in stages, not complete each part one at a time. Take time to evaluate the piece during the process. You need to take the first step. Don't be timid, jump in with the big brush and have fun. You are doing the painting so don't be intimidated by your teacher. For your teacher all you have to do is have a compelling subject and follow the art principles of composition, line, and value. Your technique is yours.

I have an old friend in Australia doing school where i am traveling and i really like him but does he like me?
I graduated with my friend and we've always been in different circles but good friends when we do meet up. The last couple years we have not really talked much as we have both been in relationships and in different circles with work and school. This year he is studying Australia and i happen to be travelling here as well. When we first realized we didn't really talk as he had his girlfriend here for a bit. Now they have broken up and she has gone home and i know he's a bit upset. After she left we started talking on the phone for hours about everything! I went and visited for 2 days but was sick and we didn't get to do much. I stayed at his place but not in his room. We are planning lots of trips together but i'm worried because i really like him and have no idea if he has any of the same feelings? What should i do?? Should i just admit. I don't want to ruin anything!

In all that talk did you guys never once talk about each other and whatever feelings may exist between the two of you. Then you went to visit him for two days. What was the understanding when you went there, did you go as a girlfriend or a platonic friend. Before you start planning trips together, why don't you resolve the dating issue first. With the issues resolved you can now decide for the two of you ,where it is going, and what happens if he runs into his ex I hope the best for you.

How hard is it to get a job as a high school maths and PE teacher in Melbourne, Australia if you're Asian? It seems like all teachers are caucasian except asian language teachers... I've never had a asian teacher who doesn't teach a language. So it's like all non-lote teachers are caucasian.

if you're asian, what difference does that make? Although a PE and math teacher is an odd combo, just make sure that math is your top priority over pe, in math, it is crucial that you have a good teacher.
2 :
I had an Asian science teacher, the Indonesian teachers at our school were all Australian. Schools shouldn't be hiring based on race, if they are its discrimination. Maybe there is a shortage of people of Asian background training to be teachers (except for lote teachers), that could be why you didn't have many Asian teachers.
3 :
Maths - good chances as Maths is one of those teaching positions that are in demand (along with Science and TAS). PE - very hard. I am told that supply outstrips demand by x4 (huge!). Def have a better chance with Maths. I dont think race is an issue (would hope not) - its about your credentials, experience and passion!
4 :
If you have the qualifications and can communicate in English, clearly, your race will have no effect at all. In some cases it may be an advantage. In some areas there is an oversupply of teachers, so a permanent position may be hard to get as there are waiting lists. You can Jump forward if you are willing to teach anywhere in the state.

Hey School aged students in Canada and the USA, uniform question:

Hey School aged students in Canada and the USA, uniform question:?
Hey, I am an Australian, completed all my schooling in Australia, I see alot of sitcoms about your two countries and wondering, why since you both were also ex-british colonies, that you don't have uniforms like both Australia and New Zealand do? what was the story behind being able not to wear them? please explain? I was talking about the government/public ones, obviously the private ones.
Other - United States - 2 Answers

1 :
Uhm I don't know any specific "stories" of why we don't but not all schools don't. Especially private schools. (which you have to pay to get into.) Maybe it's because of being low on the school budget. But some schools do and some don't. I think a lot of students and parents got to vote on it not be or to be. And I know for a fact that a LOT of students don't want that. Opinion matters a lot here.
2 :
Public (goverment) school students in the USA have traditionally NOT worn uniforms. That changed somewhat in the past decade or two to reduce conflicts caused by competion over designer clothing, and in some cases by competing gangs (that identify themselves via colors). However, uniforms are still the exception for public schools. It's not a protest or reaction to the norm in the British school system. It's just the way things have been.

Hi, I answered your question last time :) ~ you don't say suburb or areas close to your home but hope this helps! Have you considered trying for a scholarship ? If science is your area and your good at it then consider using this as a 'foot in the door' Would still suggest you look at McKinnon High School MacRobertson Girls High - select entry (ie you would need to sit entry exam!) University High Balwyn High School Frankston High School Canterbury Girls High School Girls schools you might like to consider ~ Presentation College Windsor, Siena, Sacre Coeur, Our Lady of Sion, Go and have a look at ALL the schools your interested in find out what set that school apart from another, ask about scholarships etc If Science is REALLY your thing - have a look at the John Monash Science School - it is select entry - located in the Monash University Clayton Campus grounds
2 :
In the Northern suburbs Lowther Hall, Penleigh and Essendon Grammar, Ivanhoe Grammer are the three best independant schools..
3 :
Take a look at John Monash Science School.
4 :
John Monash Science School - Highly selective maths and science school, brand new in 2010, co-ed, public school, connected to Monash Uni. MacRobertson's Girl, Mentone girls grammar, Kilbreda, Haileybury, Brighton Grammar.

what the school counselor has to reveal under the law

what the school counselor has to reveal under the law?
i know i'm mentally unstable sometimes and i am self-destructive. i am trying to fix myself up and am considering going to my school counselor [high school in australia]. but i do not under ANY circumstances, want my mum to find out [single parent - dad is alive still, found out two years ago - i think he's mental too ] so i want to know what my school counselor will have to [under the law] tell my parents about: - self-harming - occasionally throwing up my food [not a ED reaction - more a when my mum yells at me and i just ate/am eating, i stop and have a "shower" to puke] - continual use of diet pills [ED-related] - skipping school and forging notes - depression would it be better to talk about skipping school with the police liaison officer [i got her mobile number when i ran away last time]? would she tell my mum? thanks everybody

she wont reveal anything its ok talk to her itll do u good, good luck
2 :
In America the counselor should tell you in the beginning what he/she must reveal under law. If you want to be positively sure what he/she will say to your mom go to the counselor let her/him know that you want to speak with her but before you can do this ask him/her what type of things under law is he/she required to tell your mom. If you know you need help you should see your counselor. It's better to get help then to let things get worse. Your mom may get upset over certain things but she will be relieved that you know you have problems and your seeking help.
3 :
It's different in every country, but they are bound to release information regarding you hurting other people or the chance of you causing harm to yourself. The best answer is to ask the counselor.
4 :
I am Australian. In Australian Law and Ethics anything revealed in a confidential setting, such as your Councellors office, CAN NOT LEGALLY BE TOLD to your parents. Even if you are under 16 years of age. BUT....... She will try and persude you to bring your parents up to speed on what you are doing as you are a risk to yourself and potentially others. But she can not go behind your back, without your permsssion and reveal these things. But be prepared for the almighty push. As it's best they are involved in your mental care. Also she can however breach confidenliity laws if you are at such a risk to your health, body, mental health, life and others. She is then bound under Mandatory Reporting Laws. AGAIN SHE CAN NOT REPORT THESE THINGS TO YOUR PARENTS WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. But CAN INVOLVE DHS or Psych services without your permission. I suggest going and asking her how she would react under circumstances where you were to reveal self harm issue and a potential eating disorder? See what she says and weigh it up. Is it worth it? What was her answer? Was she genuine? Do you think you can be open with her and trust her? Then it's up to you. Go with your gut. It's usually right. You sound as if you are an incredible amount of stress. I feel for you as my high school days pushed me to all of what you are doing, except skipping school and forging notes. And pushed me over the edge at one point for many years to come. Now I help others in difficult physical and mental jams. E-mail me if you want to atlk or ask more questions.
5 :
I don't know what the laws are in Australia but I think you should tell your parent about your problems and they will get you the help you need. You have to think about what you are doing to yourself and eventually your family and friends and in the long run it isn't worth it. You not only hurt yourself but those who love and care for you too. Here in the US counselors are mandated to at least tell parents about problems their children are having that are harmful to them. Please talk to your parents! Good luck!
6 :
1) If you are potentially a danger to yourself, or others, your counselor is required to report it, but not to your parents. 2) See Bulimia, self harm, and depression treatments, at http://www.ezy-build.net. (.net.nz/~shaneris) on pages 39, 16, 2, and http://www.webhealth.com/wiki/EatingDisorders and http://emotionalhealth.ivillage.com/ Diet pills can be highly addictive. DIETING: Go to: h t t p : / / c h o o s e d i e t . b l o g s p o t . c o m and select one, possibly changing later. Eat 6 - 8 small meals daily, with a little protein in each, preceded 20 minutes earlier with a large glass of water, (drink at least 10 large glasses [250 ml] daily) and snack on as many celery sticks as you like, with the occasional carrot stick, or slices of cucumber and/or tomato in any vinegar desired (no oil!). Also see http://www.ediets.com and subscribe to their email newsletter. Slowly work up to 30 - 60 minutes of brisk walking, daily, possibly doing other exercises at home as well, as you are listening to music, or watching television, like bending and stretching exercises, Tai Chi, (see page 2: ezy-build) Pilates, or pump iron. Many overweight people use food in an attempt to fill an emotional void, which is unhealthy, and ultimately futile. See http://www.foodaddiction.com and http://www.oa.org/ Others eat out of boredom, so find other things that you enjoy, or are interested in, so that boredom is no longer part of your life. Analyse your nutritional type, at www.mercola.com (use their taskbar: enter "nutritional type") and modify your diet accordingly. See your doctor: show your scars, and ask for a referral: get the therapist to talk to the Police Liason Officer, and I advise family therapy, where both you and your mother attend, and have your say, moderated by the therapist, and hopefully reaching some resolution. [GO, THE POWER!!!: GO: THE EELS!!!].
7 :
I don't know about Australia, but in America, they would have to tell. You're under 18 and on top of which your doing yourself harm. In the US, a counselor is supposed to reveal if the patient is causing others or themselves harm. Also, it has been my experience that school counselors can't always be trusted, and don't operate inside technical rules, especially since the don't think the kids can or will do anything.
8 :
lots of excellent answers already,... remember, all teachers-counselors-administrators are mandated reporters, they have a legal and moral obligation to keep you from harm (from others or yourself). keep this in mind; "you are only as sick as your secrets". better to get help than to continue swirling downn the toilet.

Can schools (in Australia) legally block websites at home

Can schools (in Australia) legally block websites at home?
My school runs a laptop program wherein they give us laptops that we pay for over the year. recently they have begun to block websites such as Myspace and Facebook when i am at home. Is it legal for them to interfere with my browsing at home? Does this constitute an invasion of privacy? I have a feeling that it isn't illegal :( but if it is could someone please provide evidence of some sort. (remember: Australian law)

If this is the Rudd program of laptops - yes they can. You do not actually own the laptops (and are not paying for them - not sure where you got that idea). The government gave them to students for school work only. To ensure that all students had the same accessibility to technology. It was not given to you to place games, post of social network sites etc. It was given to you to help in writing your assignments. There is nothing stopping your parents buying you a computer - then there is no filtering. The moment you accept something "FREE" from the school you are controlled by the conditions of that gift (your parents would have signed acceptance of these conditions on your behalf).
2 :
download this program is unblocks blocked sites, just read description and download.

Teaching in private and public schools in Australia - what's your experience

Teaching in private and public schools in Australia - what's your experience?
Hi - it's getting to that stage of my degree where I need to start applying for jobs. My area is secondary sciences (Biology, Chemistry and junior science) and am looking at applying for pretty much anywhere on the eastern side of Australia (not too fussed where, not too keen on going outback though). Am not sure whether I want to work in the public or private sector though - so if anybody has advice, I'm definitely interested. Thanks for your comments :-)

private sector more money
2 :
First, I can understand your concern about the outback, but I spent three years in the outback (Woomera, S.A.), and can tell you it doesn't have to be all bad. Having said that, the east coast would be better overall. Private sector will give you a chance to definitely make more money, but may be harder to break into. The rules are different, in that public will be state driven, funded (or not), and more students to deal with. Private sector tends to have smaller classrooms with either students who want to be there and the parents can afford it, or snotty kids who will "tell mummy and daddy on you". Either way, both can be rewarding, just make sure they know who is in charge from day one.
3 :
in public the teaching there is very slow than the private is advance..

At the end of the summer holidays - about last week of January/ first week of February depending on which state you live and /or level of education - for example - Technical colleges would usually start about a week later than grade school, and some private schools starts a few days later than public schools.

can anyone give me info on moving to australia and going to school

can anyone give me info on moving to australia and going to school?
I am currently a high school senior, I'd like to move to australia november this year and hopefully attend college/uni. How should I do this to save the most money and what should I do now to get ready for it? I was also wondering if I am going to need to enroll in a college here first. If you have experience moving to a new country and going to college there,if would be helpful. Also, maybe some price estimates? thanks
Other - Australia - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
You hav to apply on QTAC for college/uni, and give them the courses you want to take,- this needs to be done before november, and when you log back on sometime in January, youll get a course offer of which youll choose to take the offer or not, Housing can be cheap as 100 per week, mine cost 250 per week, because I also have a part time job. The uni payments I wouldnt need to worry about, because they dont expect you to pay the full amount before you enrol. you can pay them after you graduate uni, Lolz I would write more in details but Im busy, I hope this is a heads up for you
2 :
It depends on what state you are wanting to go to- they may have different requirements for enrolment. Are you planning on becoming an Australian citizen, or just stay to study? Unfortunately (in Victoria at least, and probably elsewhere) international students at uni have to pay their fees- so you are unable to put paying the fees off until after you graduate (contrary to what the previous poster has said). Depending on where you live prices can range greatly. In Melbourne, an apartment in the city is usually well over $300 a week, but if you rent in the suburbs, it can be a lot cheaper. If I was you I would look at different university websites (Some of the big Victorian ones: http://www.futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/int/ , http://www.monash.edu/study/international/ , http://www.latrobe.edu.au/international). They have a lot of information for people looking to potentially come study at their universities. Without a bit more of an idea of what you are planning on doing, where you want to live etc, it is hard to know where to start! Hope that helps, =)
3 :
As an international student you have to pay your fees up front (you cannot defer them like Australians can) - and the amount is much higher 200-400% more than the Australian fee (Depending on the degree). Australian universities send out offers in January each year. You will need the offer in your hand to get a student visa, so you will not be able to arrive in November unless you have already been made an offer. Australian students apply to a central (state based) agency with their preferences. International students apply to the specific university they are interested in. In general, Sydney, Melbourne are the most expensive to live in, Brisbane is next followed by Canberra, Adelaide Perth and Hobart. The regional centres - Wagga, Bendigo etc are much cheaper. In Sydney and Melbourne - to live within 20 minutes of the university you either need to be sharing with 4+ others in a house or expect to pay $400 per week for all accommodation costs. As an international student you are able to work 20 hours per week. After taxes etc this will amount to around $250 per week depending on the job you get. So you are unable to "survive" purely on this work - you will need to bring with you some funds.
4 :
first you have to apply and get an acceptance letter from the uni you want to study at,then you apply and qualify for a student visa you will pay international student fees so your looking at up to 10,000 per semester(depending what and where you study) and you must prove you have enough money to support yourself while in Australia ......you can work 20 hours a week during school sessions and full time during legal school holidays a new school in Australia years starts Jan/Feb

Toothpaste, blotchy skin, now scabby skin, 2 days before school, HELP ???!?
Sorry for asking this twice :( Okay, im freaking out. I have 2 days before i go back to school (australia) and yesterday, i had this gigantic zit on my left cheek, and another one on my right cheek, and seeing how everyone said that putting toothpaste on would make it smaller, so i put some toothpaste on my cheeks, and it really stung badly, but i didn't wash it out until 30 minutes later XD And when i did, my face was all blotchy like a million mosquitos bit my face, it was horrible, i wanted to cry. And then it just hurt whenever i touched it, and it was all sore, and i put some aloe vera gel on it, and went to bed, and this morning i woke up and my face is all... scabby, it hurts and its all pink and horrible. How can i get rid of this before school, in two days ? It's really horrible, i don't even want tot go out. And i don't have makeup =[ My face hurts when i yawn or wash my face, and it stings lightly even though i don't have anything on it right now, and also, should i wash my face with my cleanser or not, because im scared it'll sting and what about a facial ??? It looks like i have a bad case of ex ma (spelling?)

Get some camomile teabags and wash very gently with a cold/luke warm tea made from these on a pad of cotton wool - . Or get some Calendula oil if you can - this is agreat soother. You probably 'broke out' due to a bit of stress about going back to school. It should settle very soon - maybe not quick enough for your return - BUT don't mess with it or it could encourage infection.
2 :
You need to get the refining mask from proactive. It'll cost about 27 dollars by itself. It's an on the spot treatment. And don't EVER EVER EVER put toothpaste on your face. It just irritates your skin.Another thing you can do is make sure that whatever you lay your face on at night is squeaky clean and make sure that your hands are clean when you touch your face. Also, use a non-oily moisturizer on your face. I use shea butter cuz it's not greasy. That proactive is really what you need. Use it everyday, twice a day if you want to. Your skin WILL improve. Just be gentle with it and keep it clean and moisturized.

the kids at school bully me? Please help?
okay so i'm 14 and i'm in my third year of high school (australia) in year 7 i made friends with this girl, and she ended up to be a very shady person, very controling, very competitive. it's been about a year, since we had this really big fight. well i didn't fight back, but she did all these nasty things to me, and i told the vice principal . He suspended her. she likes to conrol others to annoy me. so instead of her getting in trouble, she just watches what they do. and laughs. easy for her. she won't get in trouble if she isn't doing anything right? LOL ! yeah well she's doing it again. today i went on an excursion to the city for sose today, and her and her friends were all there. they all started at me. what am i gonna do? they ruined my whole day

Also, you can tell her that she's just jealous of u. ******************************************************************************* hoped i helped

If you ignore it all it might go away. The more you react the more they will bully you. They enjoy it. Or you can talk to a school counselor if you have one. When I was bullied I went to see my school counselor and you know what? It became all better. Hope this helps!

Well if i were you (which im not) i would kick there ass and then see if they picked on me. But you could try to just ignore them and if they keep doing it then find out some dirt on them and fight back nobody deserves to be bullied aight!!

Next time, get down on your knees and pray out loud for her soul. Even if they stay at you, it will make a difference and just maybe show them the stupidity of their actions. You see something vital is lacking in her life and mind. You physically can't fight, but you have the power to pray don't you? Good Luck and God Bless
5 :
tell the principal again, see what happen this time. its not that hard go to the principals office right after she bullies you and tell him/her exactly what happened and show him/her how bad it was!
6 :
Make new friends. I think you surrounded by troublemakers. So, get some good friends and hang out with them often. It helps a lot. Also, try to ignore the bully. Act as if you do not mind. Because the more you feel bad, the more they would be encouraged to bully. Get yourself a new hobby, start getting fit and enjoy life. You are too young to get worried about all these things. Take Care......
