I used to think that until it was pointed out to me that the parents of the kids who go there pay tax just like I do, probably more tax, as they make more money than me.

haven't you already asked this question 3 times? I have to give you credit though you have reworded it. Can i ask why is this funding such an issue for you? Is it because the schools you were to were in low SES so therefore they received less recourses as the parents couldn't afford them so the school had to pay the bill and supply resources so the school couldn't spent resources in other areas? Didn't your school have a good PnC? I would really like for you to modify your question and write why you have such an issue for it and answer your own question as well... as i am really perplexed as to why you feel so strongly about the funding issue when there is more things of greater concern in the Qld school system than the dissemination of funding. To answer the question... No. Private schools pick up the slack where Ed qld dont want to build schools. A lot of funding for private schools comes from fedral under another program. I am more concerned about the quality of teachers at present how the average age of a teacher in Australia is 52 and how they have a very different teaching style than is promoted (or even needed) for todays school system, how these teachers have incentives (to the sum of 50 000) to retrain in a different industry and the pick up rate is appalling. I am concerned about all the new teachers coming through who do not have the passion and drive so therefore are failing miserably as teachers. A good teacher can still get exceptional educational outcomes with limited resources where a crap teacher can have all the resources but unless they have the skill and imagination to put it to good use then there is no use that teacher having the resources at all.

No I don't I sent my daughters to a private school and in doing so did not use up any facilities or money that the government spend on public schools. I pay my taxes and never used subsided daycare so why are my kids not entitled to funding just because I pay to send them to a good school.

No I would not ,I sent my children to private school and paid in excess of $15k a year for 2 children plus both my husband and I pay taxes at the highest rate. Everybody has the same choice you can also send your children to a private school if you choose.
